Friday the 13th...so I think of movies
And therefore, my top 5 movies of all time. Some movies were hard to not put on this list but I am pretty happy with these choices. What does this say about me, based on these 5 movies? Comment away.

1) Henry v with Kenneth Branagh
if you know me at all, you already knew this.

2) Shawshank Redemption
One of those movies I can watch over and over.

3) History of Violence
Not for everyone maybe because it is kind of violent but one of
the few movies I have seen in recent years that was not a story I
had seen many times before.

4) The Adventures of Robin Hood with Errol Flynn
Childhood memories of channel 9 on a Sunday afternoon, "Family
Classics" anyone?

5) Miller's Crossing
Another story where you were not able to guess what was going to
happen next. Plus it is all about being Irish.

Who is this Kenneth Branagh you speak of? Actually I just watched (again) him and his ex (Helena Bonaham Carter, not Emma) in Theory of Flight, one of those quirky English movies that they do well and Americans suck at. Very good stuff.

I would have expected you to have a Miller's Crossing/The Departed tie for number five.

No question that the Departed was high on the list too. Just I decided to do top 5 and tough decisions had to be made.

Well I knew about Henry V, but I did not know you loved Shawshank so much. I haven't watched that movie in far too long. Wouldn't have thought I'd love a prison flick, but there you go.

And Family Classics! Robin Hood! When I watch the dvd I'm still startled to see all the scenes they edited for television.

Shawshank is a very compelling film. Or at least I think so.

Any chance they ever put out a DVD pack of movies from Family classics? There were movies that seemed like they showed once every 2 months....
